Medical Transcription

Conversion of digitized audio form reports of Doctors into computers as texts. Doctors in countries like USA, dictate their reports at every stage of treatment of their patients using dicta-phones or other devices. These reports are stored as digitized audio. Specialised professionals called medical transcriptionist (MTs) playback these reports and transcribe them into computers as texts. These professionals possess good command over English and typing, computer skills, listening comprehension and sound knowledge of medical terminology.

The process involves recording dictation into a digital system and storing in server. The parent company in US connects to this central server and downloads the latest dictations compress, encrypt and forward it to the Indian company. The receiving company retrieves the data, decompresses the data and routes them to different workstations. MTs transcribe the voice data into text form. Once the work is completed, the local company sends back the transcribed documents to the hub of the Transcription Network from where it is routed to the concerned Doctors.

Insurance Claim Processing

Doctors in the U.S. have to raise the bills and follow-up with the Insurance Companies for the treatment/services they render to their patients. They render services in large volume that they are not able to raise the claims and follow-up with insurance companies of their own. Hence, they hand it over to a third party called BILLING OFFICE, who will process the insurance claims electronically and provide billing services for doctors and other health care providers.

The completed claims processed by BILLING OFFICE are transmitted via computer modem to a central clearinghouse. These claims are audited and forwarded for payment to thousands of commercial, private and government healthcare plans. Since the claims are made electronically the processing time get reduced to days rather than months. This also facilitates the doctors to get their remuneration quickly.

Legal Database

Lawyers who counsel cases have to go through relevant laws, rulings and precedents in order to build up their case. With the advent of IT the cumbersome job of lawyers is made easy. By creating and updating these Legal Databases with case contents, rulings, etc., lawyers can categorize them into useful and common understood criteria. This task involves creating computerized editable and index-searchable formats of all laws, rulings, precedents, case proceedings and history.
